The Challenge

This project called for students to create a type specimen poster—a poster that incorporates information in an interesting design layout to promote and advertise an existing typeface.

Our aim was to create a poster that shows the different qualities or characteristics of a typeface and displays the complete typeface, consisting of all alphanumeric characters.

Project Summary

I was assigned the face Georgia, created by Matthew Carter. The typeface Georgia was researched and displayed in poster format in order to showcase its “elegant but legible” form.

My approach was informational, highlighting the features of the typeface and its technical performance. For this assignment, I created a poster that effectively and expressively showcases the characteristics of Georgia while balancing legibility with elegance.
